The Paesold company has a history dating back more than 170 years, drawing on experiences in the production of musical instruments and bows that have been passed down from generation to generation, imbued with ancient tradition and craftsmanship.
Roderich Paesold was born in 1891 in the Bohemian region “Musikwinkel” near the county seat of Eger, Hungary. In 1848, Roderich’s grandfather, Johann Carl Paesold, founded a musical instrument factory. By 1900, it had become a very successful trading company under the name “Flügelnell”.
Roderich learned the basics of musical instrument manufacturing at the family workshop, and in 1919 he founded his own company specializing in the production of bows.
After World War II, Paesold moved to Bubenreuth and in 1950 he re-established the family business.
Today, Paesold is headquartered in Baiersdorf, Germany. The company sells their instruments internationally, still using the Paesold family’s centuries-old techniques and business know-how. Paesold products are among the best in the world, which is why many orchestral musicians around the world choose to play Paesold family instruments.
